Always think NATURAL. Horses should be barefoot of course, if I think your horse can cope without shoes then I will encourage you to keep them barefoot with the addition of hoof boots for the occasional hack.
If you are covering long distances over different terrain then traditional nailed on shoes are the best most cost effective option.
It is very worrying when you think your horse has Laminitis. Please do not try to self diagnose Laminitis. Call your Farrier and your Vet as we will work together. Most horses recover from Laminitis.
Remedial farriery can be anything from an aggressive trim for white line disease to a severe case of Laminitis where special shoes and pads are needed to help support the horse and in many cases save lives.
When you cannot nail shoes on or your horse is a frequent shoe looser, glue on shoes might be the answer. I have been working with Glu Shu for many years. As you would expect they are more expensive than traditional steel shoes but when you have exhausted all other options these are a very good option.
I have great experience in dealing with many different types of hoof cracks. I work with the latest modern materials to help and prevent hoof cracks. Prevention and early treatment is key.
The squish pad can provide instant pain relief for horses suffering with Laminitis - collapsed heels - white line disease and other conditions related to sore hooves.
