Tell me about your horse / pony.
Firstly and most importantly is your horse well behaved for the farrier, if not have you tried to work out why, are they young and just unbalanced or have they not learnt manners yet, are they very nervous and need a calm patient farrier, if they are dangerous for example kick then I'm afraid I am not willing to put myself in danger.
What size and breed is your horse, I am happy to work with most breeds and sizes with the exception of very large heavy horses.
Where are you based - I cover Wirral North West England but I do travel out to Chester and North Wales occasionally.
History - I will need to know any history of issues relating to the hooves and lower limbs, for example previous cases of Laminitis, hoof abscesses and conformational problems.
Shoes - What is the shoeing history, have you kept to a regular appointment with a qualified farrier, please let me know if the farrier is local to Wirral as I might know them and may need to discuss any previous shoeing arrangements.
Get in contact by texting or calling me on 07743976831 also sending images through WhatsApp of the hooves and shoes would be very helpful.

I am more than happy to work with many equine vets to discuss any hoof related issues. Your vet can call or email me with Radiographs and we can come up with the best recovery plan for your horse.
There are many vets covering Wirral - I work well with Lehurst but I am happy to work with other vets.
